Last report from the island

My duffel is half-packed already; tomorrow at half-past noon I hop on a catamaran ferry to Athens. From there, a few hours of rest, and then airplane travel home.

Gonna miss the island. The wind never really picked up - the meltemi, the summer wind that blows through the Aegean, hasn't hit yet - so it's been kinda sweltering the past couple of weeks. Hot, humid, hazy.

But good for the soul, for all that.

Connection isn't up to delivering photos from here, but butterflykiki's recent fic (which I'm still giggling over) reminded me that here in the islands, the most popular local beer is called Mythos.

Which makes me think of humorous situations in which the oldest Immortal thinks his name is being called, when in fact someone is ordering a brew.
