Decided to do a little tinkering and experimenting tonight. So...
...pulled the hard drives from my computer, put a blanked-out spare hard drive in, and did a Linux installation built around the application they call "MythTV".
MythTV, y'see, is a Linux-based personal video recorder - basically, a free version of TiVo. The idea is that if you've got a PC and a capture card, you've got all the hardware you need, and it's just a matter of getting the software properly configured.
Of course, it didn't work. (Did you expect anything else?) No Linux experience save trying to put it on the Stone Age laptop for my brother last Christmas, and I just did an auto-install from a Linux version apparently built specifically to handle MythTV (KnoppMyth).
Just curious: has anyone else noodled with stuff like this?
