I'm sure this is a familiar story.
The fax machine in the home office starts getting unsolicited advertising faxes. They give a number to call to get your fax number off the list. Like an idiot, I call the number.
The faxes keep coming.
I call the FCC to report this; they say to fax in the offending faxes. I gather them together, and then move on to other things - sending out resumes for jobs has a higher priority.
Then Wednesday night, I see that there's another advertising fax that's come through. I call again.
Except this time I call the business itself. Finally, I get a human on the line.
I calmly and politely tell them the following:
1) I got their number from an unsolicited advertising fax.
2) I want my number taken off their call list forthwith.
3) I want them to get in touch with whoever gave them my fax number, and tell *them* to take my number off their list.
4) If I get another unsolicited fax from them or anyone else, I'm calling the Federal government.
So far, I haven't gotten a junk fax since...
