A reaction to the news
Jun. 5th, 2004 04:55 pmIt is said that it is improper to speak ill of the dead.
Hence, I offer the following thoughts on Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40th President of the United States:

ETA:
On second thought, it's a sad day. I disagreed with a lot of Reagan's policies, and agreed with George H.W. Bush that "Reaganomics" was "voodoo economics", but for good or ill, Reagan left a mark on the nation.
The current President would not be fit to hold Reagan's hat.
And the manner of his passing should be a signal to all of us - at a time when people clamor over things like stem-cell research on purely ideological grounds, one must remember that there are real-world consequences which are affected by arguments of ideology.
And as usual, when someone else passes on, perhaps we should take stock of our own lives.
