Final entry, Eastern European edition
Aug. 28th, 2003 02:51 pmIt is ten minutes to 3 in the afternoon, Athens time. In fourteen hours and change, I catch a taxi to Athens airport for the flight home.
In case Alitalia draws the ire of Murphy or Al Qaeda, for the record:
The Minoan Flying Dolphins' catamaran ferries are named:
Highspeed One
Highspeed Two
Highspeed Three
Highspeed Four
That's it. That's even the name they've got on the life preserver rings.
At least the traditional ferries serving the islands bear names like "Pegasus" and "Apollon". Granted, the names are actually "Express Pegasus" and "Express Apollon", but it's a little better.
Never leave naming of a ship in the hands of a marketing department without imagination.
Next entry, Fate willing, will be from the East Coast of the United States.
Pictures to follow as soon as I can figure out how to publish 'em.
Close entry.
