4) Recharger for same? Check.
5) Put keys in a safe place? Check.
6) Deodorant? Check.
7) Toothbrush? Check.
8) Pirates of the Caribbean? Check.
9) Get self locked out of house in rainstorm at one AM? Check. (For explanation, see Item 5.)

Not sure whether to file it under "one of those days" or "only me".

And the 2003 Academy Award for Bad Timing goes to...

Got to sleep very late last night, after organizing my travel bags; woke up later than I wanted to. What woke me up, actually, was a phone call from a law-school classmate, saying:

"I've got this project going on, and I want you in on it. I want to hire you. Can you meet me at the law school tomorrow?"

On the day I frelling leave the country, no less. No joke: I leave for the airport in forty minutes as I'm typing this... *groan*

Up side: we agreed that I'd call her when I got back in-country, and it's not a problem that I'm not bar-certified yet. I don't know what the project is, except that it involves people who lost loved ones when the Towers fell.

Maybe I'll be a working man again when I get home?

For now, signing off. Will reopen the journal when I reach the Balkans, if the technology allows it.
