Someone subjected the Supreme Court to a mathematical analysis here:

http://www.nytimes.com/2003/06/24/science/24MATH.html?pagewanted=1

I saw the name of "Dr. Lawrence Sirovich" and scratched my head for a moment - and then it hit me that it referred to Larry Sirovich, colleague of my father's for the last twenty years or more.

I think you've got to be registered to read the article, and have a Ph.D. in arcane mathematics to understand it. But it's interesting seeing the name of someone you know in the paper.

Note to anyone in the Greater New York Area: if you have to be somewhere in the vicinity of Newark Airport, and you can't handle it with a cab or some sort of public transportation - i.e. if you have to drive yourself to a certain spot at Newark Airport - take my advice. Get a Rand McNally map, stick it in your hip pocket, and light the thing on fire. Then put out the flames with a large mallet. It'll be less painful that way.

Three hours' sleep + half an hour drive to Newark Airport + half an hour completely lost on the Newark Airport access streets + six hours of multistate bar multiple choice questions = cranky Irregular.

Well, cranky, stir-fried, freeze-dried, anyway. In the brainpan at least.
