Filling out the New York bar re-application form when I double-checked the deadlines for filing the application. The New York rule says the application must be filed not more than 120 days before the test dates, and at least 90 days before.

The stated deadline was April 30.

I got the application with my bar results on ... lessee ... check back on my journal's history, who'd'a thunk this thing would actually come in useful in Real Life? ... May 23.

Now ... I didn't do too great on differential calculus in college, but even I can see there's problems with the math there.

Afterword: Called the New York State Bar Association to whinge about it. They said, "oh, don't worry, those dates are for people taking it the first time. You've got 'til June tenth." Very nice about it, but why couldn't they have put that in the frelling re-application form in the first place?!
