So I finally picked up a cable to connect my cell phone to my laptop - found that I can back up my phone book and such, which is nice. Also realized that the cell can become a self-contained modem when it's connected - more nice. So I test it, using the sometimes-nifty "Automatic AOL" feature to download mail from my various AOL identities (I have one name for my core stuff that I don't use much since it got choked my spam, one for my fic writing, and one I'm setting aside for professional stuff). In theory, it should dial up, download, and hang up.

Note the "in theory." Instead, the machine dials up, downloads ... and just sits there, chewing up two more minutes of cell time before I can disconnect. Not so good.

It's a nice idea, though, in theory.

Amazing how things can change in a half minute. I turn on the Nets hosting the Kings and they look like the Nets I once saw live - which is not a good thing, because I saw them in the Dark Ages. Then all of a sudden, the Nets call a time out and turn it on. Well, it's not a good game anyway, but hopefully things get interesting.

If not, it's only one game. Not as small a deal as baseball, but such is life.

Assuming LiveJournal lets me frelling POST this --

Close entry.
