I always feared this would be the end-game in the right-to-life movement: that a mother would not be allowed to choose her own life if it came down to a choice of one life or the other.

I just didn't expect that we'd be looking at the endgame for another five or ten years...

Okay, BK, overreacting. The woman claimed she didn't want the scar, not that she was afraid for her life (and a C-section isn't exactly a dangerous procedure, anyway). She said she'd rather one of the babies die than have a scar, which is why she's being prosecuted. Personally, I think mental illness probably is more the issue here, but I do call it "depraved indifference" if, indeed, all she was afraid of was a scar.

As a pro-lifer, btw, I'll state right now that if it's a choice between the mother's life or the unborn child's, I'd choose the mother's. Most pro-lifers would, except the most extreme fringe.
