bktheirregularWhile doing an errand, I did the math on my job status:
From January 2001, the beginning of the current Administration, to March 2002, when re-allocation of Justice Department funding cost me my job, fourteen months passed.
From March 2002 to present, during which time I have been on a near-continuous quest to find employment, twenty months have passed.
Simple math, if a bit depressing.
A good thing, on the other hand:
My mother's car gave some problems with its engine over the weekend, and she called the mechanic to arrange to have it looked at (this after the car had undergone an extensive servicing last week). The mechanic didn't make arrangements for her to drop the car off.
Instead, he came to the house himself and took custody of the car, because he wanted to see how it drove cold.
Have I mentioned before that we have a mechanic who makes house calls?
