OK, I think the Fox Network is starting to get annoying. (And by annoying, read "I'm ready to hijack the Arecibo dish, digitize a mug shot of Rupert Murdock, and promise any space alien bounty hunters out there their pick of the Texas oil fields if they'll abduct Mr. Murdock and forget to bring him back.")

For approximately the 387th time, they're advertising "The Next Joe Millionaire", which I suspect will have the French once again ready to tell America to take a flying leap into a black hole. They they cut to the World Series, and this eleven-thousand-dollar-a-year cowboy whose only claims to be worth something are a ripped bod and an apparent ability and willingness to lie his head off ... is in the three-hundred-dollar postseason seats.

Is it excessive of me to want to lock this guy up in a diving bell with Mr. Murdock, the current occupants of the White House, the leaders of the House and Senate, one can of chili for food, and no can opener?

No, it is not excessive; it's perfectly justified. Me, I'm almost tempted to watch just so I can see the blonde chickie get hers.

But if that's the only thing annoying you about Fox sports coverage, then you're a much more tolerant person than I am. If I have to sit through one more pitch-by-pitch, or listen to them commentating so hard they're not bothering to tell us what's going on (need a pitch call, damn it!), I'm going to go nuts! During the NLCS, I was listening to the radio and muting the TV coverage.

*sigh* We used to do that - have the picture on and listen to the radio coverage. Unfortunately, ever since we switched from cable to satellite TV, we can't do that. There's a four-second delay in getting the satellite picture, which meant that we would have heard Aaron Boone blasting the game-winning home run Thursday before we saw the pitch leave Tim Wakefield's hand.

But yeah, the lack of play-by-play bothers me too, though it got kinda drowned out by the celebrity-spotting and Murdoch-whoring. And if they pull one more stunt of coming back from the ad break to show a one-out, two-strike count ... I will be very put out.

Total agreement. The sheer despicable-ness of that TV show premise should not be getting as much play as it is. Jeez. They've really gone with the nastiness angle lately, touting how these girls are "suckers" for signing up for this. The only thing taht would make me happy? Finding out all 50 girls were in on it to make FOX and this so-called cowboy look stupid. Take that, trash TV.

Re: The coverage -- gah. *Can they never shut up?* Goddess. I muted the whole series, and relied on the radio or Perri-commentary to get me through. Sheesh.
