Note to self.
Feb. 7th, 2003 08:52 pmIf you're taking up skiing for the first time in thirteen years and the doofs at the ski shop won't touch your ski bindings for fear that they'll get sued to smithereens if some mishap happens ... you can loosen them yourself. But not too much.
I should have done that before I took my first run down the mountain and had to dodge a snowboarder and went belly-up with my skis windmilling all over the place. One-hundred-eighty-centimeter skis develop some torque.

Thank goodness we're only talking long-soak-in-a-tub-built-for-someone-half-my-size ouch, not major-surgery-lifetime-of-pain ouch.
My brother's got that second option covered. Who knew that skipping stones could lead to crippling injuries?
*sigh*
Close entry.
