Query

Has anyone else heard an expression about a clock striking thirteen - something about it calling into question all the information that's ever come out of that clock, and any information that may come from the clock in the future?

*pops in from network* Haven't heard it about calling into question the information coming from the clock. But I'm given to understand that George Orwell opened 1984 with a clock striking thirteen in order to make it clear from the get-go that something was rotten in the state of Oceania.

Not me, though it's an interesting phrase...
