The following opinion is not endorsed by Richard Dean Anderson or the Stargate gang.

I see people announcing Stargate fics with slashiness involving Jack, and something in my head rebels. I haven't read them; they may be wonderful, lyrical prose, but ...

Jack's been camped out in my frontal lobe for most of the past year, and I'm sorry, but from where I stand, he's not about to slash. He'll stab and slice and parry, but not slash. More likely, if you suggest he slash, he'll rather bludgeon, shoot, or carpet-bomb you.

Okay, maybe I'm transferring my own squick factor onto Jack O'Neill, but ... maybe I should just shut up now?

God, I hope no one's put this on the hcquotelist yet. *off to check*

Also (now that I've gone and quoted you from here to next Tuesday), I actually agree. Despite the Jack/Jonas stuff that's been going on lately (sorry, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]), which I have actually been reading, God help me (not generally a reader of the kind of slash which involves two guys here), I get nothing but straight guy vibes from either of the two of them.

Daniel, on the other hand, I got different vibes from, I'll admit that. But Jack? Jonas? Stuck with the straight guy vibes still. *g*

Also agreeing with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] on that 'to each their own' thing. Which I know you do too. Mostly, wanted to comment in order to get my very own two cents in, that's all.
