Progress?

I can now read a news feed for four to five minutes before I hit a point where I want to punch a hole in a wall or collapse somebody's skull.

That's an improvement.

It's gonna be a long two to four years.

I have just set the FB feed of someone I've known for decades to 'see less of this person' where 'less' is 'nearly none' because she's taken to posting supposedly ironic articles (if you have to tell me it's ironic, it's really not) and *explaining them*. And acting as if nobody ever possibly thought of the topic before, anywhere, ever. And that's not even her political posts.

sigh

Yes. Thing is, this is someone I've known for 25 years, who in person is kind and compassionate. Online, there seem to be a few cogs either missing, jammed or disconnected, and she has no ability to see how what she says comes across to others.

I would love to have Picard -- or that actor's new character, Blunt -- try to deal with her. That would be worth selling tickets. But as it is... I am going to ignore her persistent attempts to act as if rationality alone (by her definition) is the solution to everything.
