Game theory

I actually use two computers, generally. I have a laptop - a lightweight Dell - which is primarily used for work, for study, for communicating with people, and for my writing projects. Then, in my office space at home, there's the desktop. It's a homebuilt machine, with pretty decent peripherals, a lot of storage, etc.

Some of the time, it's a game machine - I play computer games to relax. And I know, a Playstation or Xbox would cost less and be more impressive graphically.

However, there are other uses for a full-fledged computer. One: as a download center, a way to pull things off the net while I use the laptop away from home, away from the network. And two: as a data vault. Backing up files from my laptop to the desktop has saved my bacon a number of times.

I defy a Playstation or an Xbox to store three years' worth of law-school outlines, or a copy of a term paper that decides whether one graduates from law school.

Personal front:

"Scarab" chapter 11 is now in beta - this is the first piece of work I have *ever* put through the beta process. With a little luck, this project will be complete before March.

Ye gods, every time I see "chapter 11" it makes me cringe ... wonder why...

Close entry.
