Oddball decision

Working on a cold open for a story, and I'm debating whether to start it out as follows:

"It was supposed to be a dark and stormy night."

Still working on the next few paragraphs, which might explain why that statement is plot-significant, rather than merely atmospheric.

I think Pratchett and Gaiman beat you to it in the opening line of Good Omens:

"It wasn't a dark and stormy night. It should have been, but there's weather for you."
