Calmer
Whatever was supposed to be going on at the Argentine embassy, it was done by the time I got out of work and back to the apartment. Police presence is somewhat heavier these days, for obvious reasons, but I get the sense that a lot of the public's anger these days has been redirected towards the vandals. Still, there's going to be a lot of shaking up in this country. The public sector's overloaded with sinecure jobs, pensions get paid out probably far too early, and stuff like that.
(A note on the common complaint about Greeks getting paid for fourteen months' work while doing only twelve: it's an accounting trick to somewhat limit monthly pensions. Instead of getting a higher monthly salary which equates to a higher pension, you get a slightly lower monthly income, and then bonuses to make up the difference: half a month's worth at Easter, half a month's worth in the summer, a month's worth at Christmas.)
