Hearing protection

Picked up a set of earplugs today, to try and blot out the never-ending high-volume nerve-grating yammering in the adjacent office that's been going on hour after hour, day after day, for something like five weeks now. Bear in mind, these are the same sort of earplugs that served well for attenuating the noise of a military rifle range.

But the yammering next door is still getting through and breaking my concentration.

At what point do I start wondering if the problem's something with me?

If I could get my hands on a sound level meter I'd ship you one.

I don't think it's you; occasionally the guy in the cube next door will play techno on his headphones loud enough for me to hear during lunch. It's not very loud at all, but it still annoys me a bit. (Of course, he doesn't do this that often, and only on lunch breaks, unlike the constant yap you have to deal with.)
