Grinding slow
This morning, Periferia Office: "Yes, we sent the visa papers out to the Greek consulate in New York. Didn't the Dimos Athinon office tell you anything?"
One hour later: "This is Dimos Athinon, calling to let you know that the visa papers you requested have been sent out."
3:30pm New York time, 10:30 Athens time: "I'm sorry, but I haven't seen any papers concerning your visa request. Are you sure they were sent out?"
(Note: this last was after being put on hold for fifteen minutes. If I'd been calling on an ordinary international call, instead of calling via Skype through my DSL line, I would have been tearing out my hair.)

"Why no. I just found out the two separate offices that confirmed they were sent out were actually a couple of crank callers. Or the voices in my head, I'm still not sure."
Argh. *hugs*
