I've got two JPEGs which, when combined, would make an OK icon, I think. But I don't know how to stitch them together to form an animated icon.

Any advice?

there are a couple of ways it could be done but the easiest is probably animation shop (from jasc). At least that's what I would use. I have it at home (I'm in CT at the moment). I can stitch them together Monday if you like.
