Update, 1 of 2

Went to the OTE office today and arranged for DSL. The lady was very apologetic when she said the wireless router/modem wasn't in stock today, but would probably be in stock by tomorrow or Friday. My view is that it's no big deal, because I'd have to wait a week to ten days anyway for the DSL to be turned on.

Those of you with DSL: how long did it take to get turned on where you were?

When I first signed up, I had a 2 week wait to get the tech in (could've just picked up a package and did it myself since it was dead simple, but they insisted). I recently had to exchange my cable modem. I exchanged it at one of the mall outlets, waited 30 minutes on hold, they pinged for 12 minutes and I was up and running again.
