OK, this just got complicated.

OK, for the Athens law office job, it now turns out I have to do one of two things:

1) Get a work permit (which entails lots and lots of paperwork, and a three-to-six-month wait).

2) Get Greek citizenship. (Two words: army conscription.) (Plus lots of other words, but those two are kinda sticking in my forebrain.)

Huh.

Since you've got that heart = NY thing going, I'd vote for #1.

Congrats on the job offer. From your posts, it's a mixed blessing, but knowing somebody values your work is always to be appreciated.

Dude! DON'T DO IT! I know it seems easier, but in the long run, it's SO NOT WORTH IT! And really, once you give up your American citizenship, can you get it again? Be careful.
