Also, super secret message

Psst. [livejournal.com profile] neonhummingbird. (Also [livejournal.com profile] horsechicks.) Found the Warrior's Apprentice. Now I understand why he's got his own section of the Quote List.

Particularly liked the bit about him getting jeeped on the amphetamene hooch and nobody noticing the difference. Hee!

Okay, now I need a Vorkosigan icon...

Really, really damn good series. She does a lot of different things with the books. To go from Mirror Dance, which is in a lot of ways psychological horror, to A Civil Campaign, which is consciously in the style of Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Georgette Heyer, and Dorthy L. Sayers with the same characters is amazing.

And rewatching NextGen for the first time in years reminds me that it all started as a serial-numbers-filed-off fanfic. :)

Oh, yes. The dialogue is absolutely the best part of the Vorkosigan novels, narrowly beating out the absolutely preposterously complicated messes Miles gets himself into and out of. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Everyone needs to meet Mad Miles, everyone! :)
