Well, that was pretty much a disaster.
Got the new motherboard into place in the new case, transferred over the processor and memory chips, and got the various connections in place.
Plugged in the power ... and nothing.
Unplugged the power and pounded head against doorjamb.
Plugged in power unit left over from spare parts bin ... and you guessed it. Worked like a charm.
Working power supply is too big to fit in new smaller case.
