Baseball overdose

Quick question for Cubs fans on the f-list.

Did you ever reach a point during a season where you just threw up your hands and wanted no more to do with baseball for a while - in the middle of a season?

Just curious.

Occasionally. Yes.

But then the Cubs take two of three against the White Sox (including a one-hitter yesterday by a starting pitcher back from the DL) and suddenly I'm full of enthusiasm and light again. :)

Oh yeah, I heard about Prior! Good to hear.

(Though I suppose it is more evidence that the Cubbies and Yankees are on opposite ends of a karmic teeter-totter. Cubbies go down, Yankees rise; Cubs take two of three at Comiskey in convincing fashion, while the Yankees come within three outs of being swept by the Mets at the Stadium.)

(Oh, and there's also the columnist for ESPN who wrote "How many people out there are bitterly disappointed that the Yankees didn't get swept by the Mets in Yankee Stadium?" I wanted to put a fist through the monitor at my desk.)

(See, this is why I want to get the hell away from baseball for a few weeks. Only my brother is mainlining it every night until two AM. Grr.)
