Pop quiz

War is peace.

Dissent is treason.

Freedom is slavery.

Ignorance is strength.

Quickly, which one of these does not come out of Orwell?

Answer: "Dissent is treason."

If you didn't get it right, go right now and get a copy of Nineteen Eighty-Four. Heck, even if you got it right, you should read that book.

To paraphrase a meme, if you're not scared, you're not paying attention...

I knew, but of course I sorta cheated. ;-)

The set designer couldn't figure out why on earth actors wanted to keep the Big Honkin' Signs with the party slogans on them. I took home "Ignorance is Strength." *eg*

Just a play. (The slightly archaic but still effective 1963 adaptation.) There were many jokes about making it a musical however... ;->

Bonus points if you can place the Cadre Cola reference...

Not without help from Google, I'll admit. Can't know everything. ;-)

Ah, okay. Read the novella, haven't seen the movie. Very different animals. Yup, that works too...
