I've now seen seven of the nine episodes of SCC, and I've been rather impressed. Liked the touchbacks to the first two films (Charlie's comment "Storm's coming" ... the catch-line "come with me if you want to live" turning into something messianic ... things like that).

However, the plot seems to be be turning into a sort of four-dimensional chess game between Future John Connor and Skynet. Imagine what chess would be like if you could get a pawn to the end of the chessboard, and instead of just turning it into a queen, you had the option to send it back to an earlier point in the game...
