And again, the waiting game
The firm finished the paperwork for my visa, and turned it in to the authorities to send here to New York. Patience, I'm counseled.
Patience, I was counseled a year ago.
Meanwhile, I'm still paying rent on an apartment I must vacate for three-month stretches. And, oh yeah, my rent went up based on the annual national inflation rate, and I don't know what that is yet, so if my landlady wants to get snippy, I could be called delinquent. (She hasn't shown any signs of that, thank goodness, but still, I don't like taking unnecessary risks when it's my livelihood on the line.)
