Actually, *headcoffeetable*, since I'm tapping in from Starbucks.
Turns out that I must have trashed a critical file on my desktop PC when I threw the wrong circuit breaker. Which would be sort of fixable, except that it turns out something in my optical drive broke in transit and I can't boot from it now.
And the only electronics store I was able to find closed at 16:30 and doesn't open again 'til Monday.
