It is a bad sign...

...when you'd rather watch a rerun of Joe Millionaire than turn on CNN.

This from the man who thought that Joe Millionaire represents pretty close to the nadir of modern pop entertainment, and thought that dumping Firefly in favor of it was jury proof that the suits at Fox no longer gave a frell about quality programming.

But having seen the newspapers on the Web - my daily routine consists of wake up, punch up the laptop, see CNN, see NYT's front page and read the editorials, groan at how badly the world is messed up, truck on over to the comics page for an antidote - I had my home page set to CNN until I found myself violently ill in the mornings immediately after reading it, but I still have the news sites bookmarked - I find that I can't stand to listen to the talking heads yammer on endlessly about the news I've already read.

I find I prefer to read the news, rather than listen to people cram it down my throat. Maybe because too many people out there feel that they need to add some theatricality to it all.

*sigh* Anybody wants me, I'll be under the bed.

Waiting for the sky to fall.

Close entry.
