A thought on nationality.
I have family overseas, who I visit when time and circumstances permit. And I meet people over there, who sometimes wonder what my nationality is after hearing me speak in either my native language, or the local tongue.
Now and for the foreseeable future, when people ask my nationality, I will answer: "I am a New Yorker."
I can say that with pride, untainted by shame, at least.
Close entry.
